At the 9th Annual Bay Ridge Arab American Bazaar and Eid Celebration
Bay Ridge serves as the epicenter of diverse and culturally rich Arab communities. This program will celebrate Eid al-Fitr at the 9th Annual Arab American Bazaar in Bay Ridge with traditional Arab dance from Yemen, Egypt, and Palestine. This holiday marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan and is a day when Muslims around the world show a common goal of unity. Visit BAC’s Folk Feet tent for free workshops and showcases of Egyptian Tannoura, a secular folk Sufi spinning dance by Yasser Darwish; the Dabkah and Zaffa Palestinian wedding dance style by the Freedom Dabkah Group; and Yemeni social dances (for men and women) from the Yafi and Sanaa region.
