CONTINUUM CULTURE & ARTS PRESENTS: SOUP & SOUND
Continuum Culture & Arts presents Soup & Sound, a house concert featuring three groups: Earl Howard Trio, Ayako Kanda/Yuma Uesaka/Andrew Drury, and Marco Capelli’s Bach/Monk solo guitar project.
EARL HOWARD has been making music with a who's who of contemporary music for 50 years. He was featured synth soloist with the NY Philharmonic & commissioned composer for ICE. This is the debut of a trio with bassist KYLE MOTL and percussionist ANDREW DRURY.
AYAKO KANDA is a vocalist from Tokyo whose work moves between total improvisation and standard jazz, creating rules and then breaking them as she roams freely between linguistic and alinguistic forms of expression.
MARCO CAPELLI is a guitarist from Napoli, Italy who has collaborated with esteemed guitarists Elliott Sharp and Mark Ribot. In 2011 he created a dvd memorizing the victims of 9/11 in collaboration with comic artist Art Spiegelman and actor John Turturro. He presents his solo project "Bach/Monk" at Soup & Sound.
