Lullabies and Songs for Comfort in Folklife

In partnership with the Center for Art, Tradition, and Cultural Heritage (CATCH), this program will be led by five cultural activists that have been researching the state of lullabies in the following cultural communities Himalyan (Nawang Gurung), Bangladesh (Nazir Ahmed), Ghanaian (Samuel Owusu-Sekyere), Gambian (Salieu Suso), Sri Lankan (Aaron Paige) and Sicilian (Simona Gua). These leaders will share lullabies and other songs of comfort found in a variety of cultural communities across New York City. This program will feature Russian Lullabies with Valentina Kvasova, and commentary by our initiatives Heritage Ambassadors.
