Veteran media communications specialist Glenda Cadogan will give tips to community-based organizations (CBOs) to move the needle in their direction, help them access media by taking advantage of available opportunities, and make the media “right/write” for them.

Historically, gaining access to media has been challenging for small organizations in communities of color. The monkey’s wrench has always been a dual squeeze, in that paid media is outpriced for these community-based organizations and free media, unfortunately, is not colorblind. This translates into the real world; it takes a Herculean effort for CBOs to have their work advertised, resulting in many great programs and projects becoming the city’s best-kept secrets. In this workshop, tips will be given to help CBOs move the needle in their direction. Learn ways to access media by taking advantage of available opportunities …and make the media “right/write” for you.
