2024 Community Arts Grants
BROOKLYN ARTS FUND
Grant Amount: $2,500 - $5,000
Provides support for arts and cultural projects that contribute to creative experiences for audiences in Brooklyn. Funded by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA).
LOCAL ARTS SUPPORT
Grant Amount: $2,500 - $5,000
Designed with nonprofit organizations and artist-nonprofit partnerships in mind, Local Arts Support helps develop local arts projects and programs that focus on community engagement. Funded by The Statewide Community Regrants (SCR) Program of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).
CHARLENE VICTOR & ELLA J. WEISS CULTURAL ENTREPRENEUR FUND
Grant Amount: $2,500
C&E supports professional development for women artists and arts administrators, helping grantees leverage entrepreneurial skills. Funded by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA).
2024 Creative Equations Fund
JUSTICE, EQUITY, SUSTAINABILITY, + PERFORMING ARTS
Grant Amount: $10,000
Builds the capacity of social practice artists and small arts organizations and amplifies models of cultural interventions for justice. Funded by the Howard Gilman Foundation.
CULTURAL HERITAGE, DIVERSITY + DANCE
Grant Amount: $10,000
Cultural Heritage, Diversity + Dance supports dance diversity by focusing on cultural heritage dance practitioners. Funded by the Mertz Gilmore Foundation.
SOCIAL INNOVATION + ENTREPRENEURS
Grant Amount: $10,000
A social venture investment in arts businesses that creatively use their profits, partners, and/or processes to disrupt inequity and/or enhance economically viable and sustainable models of intervention for social good.
BROOKLYN INNOVATION INCUBATOR FELLOWSHIP
Grant Amount: $10,000
A social innovation accelerator and professional development intensive for creatives and entrepreneurs. Note: The Creative Equations Fund application includes a question for applicants to indicate interest in the Incubator Fellowship.
2024 Arts in Education
SU-CASA CREATIVE AGING
Creative aging programs provide opportunities for seniors to actively express themselves creatively, socialize with their peers while learning new skills, engage in cultural performances, and master techniques in a variety of arts disciplines.
GLOBAL RHYTHMS
Global Rhythms deepens students’ cultural understanding through the exploration of diverse music and dance traditions, connecting directly with New York State Learning Standards.
PERFORMING GROUPS
BAC Arts in Education performances inspire the imagination in audiences of all ages, share a range of cultures and traditions from around the world, explore a colorful spectrum of performing arts disciplines, and engage audience members in interactive learning experiences.
2024 Panelist Nominations
BAC uses a panel selection process to review applications. Panel nominees should be reliable individuals with a commitment to the arts, knowledge of Brooklyn communities, and expertise in an artistic discipline, arts administration, or community arts programming.
