Sponsorship expert Samantha Hacker will give a practical overview and explain simple ways artists can secure corporate sponsorships. Participants will be guided as they determine the best corporate sponsors to approach, what messages they can use to approach them, how much money they can really ask for, and the benefits they can offer to their supporters.
This workshop will be curated by Sam Hacker. She is an arts administrator, fundraiser, and bookkeeper based in Brooklyn. She spends her days as the Partnership and Business Development Manager at Shared_Studios, a multidisciplinary art, design and technology collective, while bookkeeping for a number of small, mission-driven organizations on the side. Previously, Sam led corporate sponsorships and partnerships efforts at The Moth, the global storytelling non-profit, and spent time in the fundraising departments of New York Theatre Workshop and The New Victory Theater. Sam holds an MA in Arts Administration from NYU and a BS in Business Administration from American University.
